Quest scenario

Of course, the treasure was hidden in advance according to the prepared map. And so, while unsuspecting guests congratulate the unsuspecting birthday boy:

A treasure was found in our house, you never dreamed of this: ….. years ago Our ………….. was born!

At this moment, malicious pirate screams (SONG 1), everyone runs in there.

There are pirate traces (accessories) and a letter all around:

“You won’t see any gifts, you won’t see a holiday! Your chest is in a safe place. You won't find it! Ha ha ha! Thousand devils! Pirates"

Next to it is another note:

“Or maybe we’ll give away your chest... Only you will get 13 gold coins for the treasure map! So that!"

Pirate language

To deal with pirates, you need to understand their language. We read words from pirate slang to the children, and they had to remember or guess their meaning:

To get “gold coins” and clues, children had to complete the tasks of the game.

"Settled on a desert island"

Each person was given a balloon and a marker. For the set time, the children drew little people on them. The one with the most populous island won. He received a chocolate coin.

"Sea Knots"

Pirates must be able to tie sea knots. Or at least regular ones :). Since there were also very small treasure hunters, the task was simplified. They gave everyone a lanyard. A competition to see who can tie the most knots while the next pirate song is playing.

Identification marks on the map

Draw identification marks on the map. For example, you can draw a few simple huts, which will help create the image of a native settlement. Near the bays, draw anchors to indicate moorings for sailboats. Also draw some palm trees. Place neat explanatory labels on the map for various places and objects. You can even draw a pirate sailboat in one of the bays.

Suits

Dear parents, without fanaticism. This is a pirate-themed children's party, and kids don't like tight clothes that are hot and uncomfortable to run and play in. For example, heavy high boots or a leather hat are a real nightmare for an active child. But newspaper accessories, assembled in five minutes, will not look very festive in the photo.

Don't try to dress the little pirate spick and span.

Some disorder and even tattered costumes are welcome! A girl can create a creative mess on her head by braiding several braids with multi-colored rubber bands. For the boy to dishevel his hair, draw a bruise, a mustache, a beard.

We offer simple options on how to dress for a pirate party without spending a lot of money. Top:

a long T-shirt or T-shirt with stripes - blue, red, black.
If it’s a shirt, then it’s white or “grimy” gray/beige. Gather the puffy cuffs and collar with elastic. Bottoms:
dark wide trousers, loose shorts or a skirt. For a boy, you can sew a short vest or a long, open camisole. For a girl - a dress with a corset, frills and flounces, retro. For ideas, look at the photos of pirate costumes available for rent.

It is better to make the tops of the boots fake

, made of thick fabric. It is advisable that they be removed - with elastic, Velcro, buttons from the inside out. If it’s hot indoors or outdoors, after a few photos as a souvenir, the boots can be unfastened:

Of course, a costume would be incomplete without important pirate accessories and recognizable elements:

  • wide belt (a long thin scarf will do), belt with gold buckle;
  • fake rivets, chains, lacing;
  • eye patch, sleeve hook, skeleton skulls (keychains, drawings, stickers on clothes, transferable tattoos);
  • spyglass, saber, pistol. Surely there are some “weapons” in your home collection. If not, make one from cardboard and paint it with silver/gold paint;
  • bandana and/or hat. They cost pennies in stores for organizing parties, but it’s easy to make a paper hat with your own hands (with an elastic band or two parts glued at the edges):

A real pirate cocked hat can be assembled from an old baseball cap and a wide brim.

. Cut off the visor, sew on the “steering wheel”, bend and sew the brim at three points, as in the photo below. The top of the head will be almost invisible, but you can paint it or cover it with fabric in the color of the hat brim. Decorate with a frill around the edges, insert a dashing feather or draw a skull. You will get a hat like this:

Pirate treasure chests

The treasure chest, present in all pirate novels, is simply a tribute to the legends. Yes, the pirates came across jewelry, but mostly the loot was much more prosaic. Pirates usually took what they could eat, drink, or sell quickly. Other “treasures” prized by pirates included good clothing, spices, bales of cotton, corned beef, weapons, ropes, and slaves. All this, of course, could not be hidden in a chest and buried in reserve.

An antique pirate map is easy to create with your own hands. Children as young as four years old can help you make it. And children 7-8 years old or older can draw it themselves. Such a drawing can become an element of the design of a children's room, serve as an accessory for a children's themed birthday party or a game of pirates or treasure hunt. Guys like such “antique” things, especially boys. By the way, the method of “aging” paper can be useful in many other cases. For example, on such paper you can write a greeting card or a vintage album. How to make an antique pirate map with your own hands

Take thick Whatman paper and moisten it with water using a cosmetic cotton pad. Then we take ground coffee and pour it onto the paper. You can spread it lightly with your hand to evenly cover the entire sheet. Let’s get this “beauty”. Even the smallest children will enjoy participating in this creative process! Let's wait for the coffee to dry and shake it off the paper. The most impatient can use a hairdryer to dry it. The same must be repeated on the other side of the paper. We get this sheet. We aged the paper and got the basis for an old pirate map. You can also age paper with tea. To do this, you need to brew strong tea, wait until it cools, crumple the paper and place it in a vessel with tea for 20-30 minutes. Then take out the paper, dry it and smooth it with an iron. To make it clear that our pirate map is really old, we will cut the edges of the map unevenly with scissors. This kind of work can also be entrusted to kids - perhaps they will turn out even more picturesque than you! To add color, the edges of the card can be set on fire with a candle. This is not a mandatory procedure at all. And, of course, only adults should do it! So, we created a “parchment” for an ancient pirate map with our own hands. Now we need to fill it with content. Let's draw a sketch, then transfer it to the map with a simple pencil. The most convenient way to glass a picture is to place it on the window in the light and trace the lines. Draw thin and precise lines, because it is not recommended to use an eraser on our “parchment”! You can outline the drawing with felt-tip pens in brown, orange, and red shades. Our map is missing only a wax seal. Polymer self-curing clay (terracotta color) is best suited for simulating such printing. If you don’t have clay, then you can, of course, use regular plasticine. But such a seal will be fragile. To increase the life of the plasticine seal, cover it with a thin layer of nail polish. Let's take clay or plasticine, roll two balls and flatten them into flat cakes. Put a rope on one cake and stick a second one on top. Let's press. Now let’s take some decoration with a convex pattern (or a wine cork) and apply it to our seal so that an impression remains. Another option is to make a print out of paper and cardboard. Let's cut out two parts of the seal from red cardboard (or cardboard and paper) and glue them together, laying a rope in the middle. Any drawings and inscriptions can be applied to the paper “stamp”. Our DIY antique pirate map is ready! You can start the game. Happy sailing!

Although more than a month has passed since Sasha’s birthday, I will still write briefly what we did there (before it all fades into history). By the way, here he is, the fantastic and incredible Alexander, he is already 6 years old :):

I didn’t have a themed treat for this birthday, and there wasn’t any special theme - it was just that everyone was happy, happy and cozy like May. Sasha only asked that his cake be accompanied by a machine, and I organized this (see), and we made the second one together. There was also a surprise cake with ice cream, but more about that another time.

The highlight of the program was not the treat, but the treasure hunt with a pirate map!

We already played once, but then Signor Tomato stole our cake and instead of a map there were notes with tasks, and this year I accidentally saw such a template for an almost real pirate map (on the right) and decided to definitely use it.

I printed out the map, or rather two, and then aged them with tea leaves. When the tea leaves had dried, I crumpled and straightened the leaves several times and, finally, lightly scorched the edges with a lighter (observe fire safety!) Now the cards were ready (although to complete the effect, you could smear them even more - roll them in the ground or drip them with oil...) , and it was possible to write mysterious and enigmatic letters on them:

After reading many articles on the topic of treasure hunting with a map, I came to the conclusion that there are two options for the game: the map is either divided into several parts and the children look for them, performing different tasks, or the map is given out in its entirety and the children look for the objects marked on the map, until finally they won't find the treasure.

I chose the second option and drew different objects in our yard on the map (a dried up pear tree, a tank of water for irrigation, a pine tree, a drain, etc. - 10 pieces in total), each of which had a hidden bag of candy. The children's task was to find all 10 bags.

I handed the card to Sasha, but he apparently decided not to strain his brains on his holiday and gave it to his older brother
