Slavic amulet Burdock of happiness: meaning, types of talisman

To ensure a comfortable and happy life, our ancestors used various amulets. Among them is the Burdock of Happiness amulet, which was created to bring harmony, happiness and good luck to a person’s life.

Having such an amulet next to him, the owner becomes calmer, more attractive, sociable, and also attracts extremely pleasant people. This “helper” is suitable for everyone: women, men, and children. Can be made of silver, wood or fabric.

Origin of the amulet Burdock of Happiness

AmuletThe Burdock talisman of happiness gives its owner courage and bravery.
Most Slavic amulets and amulets are associated with the deities who were glorified by our pagan ancestors, Navya and Pravya, and sacred holidays. However, the origin of the Burdock amulet is different.

This plant amazed our great-grandfathers with its resilience and will to live even in the most difficult times. They were sure that such a talisman would be able to hook and hold happiness, good luck, and health with its thorns next to its owner, and would provide him with protection from damage and the evil eye. Burdock, or burdock, has always been a good cure for many diseases.

Elements of the Burdock of Happiness symbol

The sign of the amulet can combine 3 elements: Orepey, Star of the Cross and Burdock. Sometimes a 4-leaf clover is added to the talisman, which is believed to bring good luck, and also a ladybug as a messenger of higher powers.

Orepei

Orepei looks like 2 rhombuses united into an infinity symbol, inside of which there are exactly the same, but smaller sizes. Orepei is a symbol representing solar energy.

Orepei's abilities:

  • help in making decisions, finding a way out of a difficult situation;
  • attract good luck;
  • bestow optimism and joy of life.

He is able to harmonize a person’s soul and lead him to balance, tranquility, and happiness.

Star of the Cross

The star-cross is a square with forked outer corners, reminiscent of burdock needles. With these “thorns” the symbol attracted prosperity and happiness for the owner, establishing a connection between prosperity and higher powers.

Thanks to the Star of the Cross, a person’s intuition became sharper, and he began to notice signs that directed him in the right direction.

The star-cross is capable of:

  • protect from evil spirits, damage and the evil eye;
  • give the owner intelligence and wisdom;
  • attract wealth;
  • attract love;
  • maintain health;
  • give favor to others.

In addition, this is a symbolism of both human mutual love and the love of the gods.

Burdock

The combination of the first 2 signs creates a talisman. It is a diamond shape with protrusions on each side, and small diamonds in the outer corners of this figure. The symbol means wealth, prosperity, satiety and everything related to material goods.

All of these elements coexist harmoniously, while beneficially influencing each other. Other amulets may have the shape of a circle in which the symbol is located. The circle is an endless shield that protects both the talisman and its owner from outside evil.

What is the meaning of a talisman?

The numerous qualities that are assigned to a talisman are very diverse. Thus, in Kievan Rus, burdock was considered a symbol of happiness. Family values and a sense of duty came first at that time. But the sign has a much broader meaning. This is luck in all its forms. The wearer of the amulet will be lucky in any area and, as a result, happier:

  • The talisman will attract successful acquaintances and profitable deals to the businessman.
  • It will give inspiration to a creative person. In addition, scaring away bad energy will prevent harm to health.

The owner of the talisman is always lucky. This does not mean that everything will happen by itself. Achieving your goal will require work, but a successful combination of circumstances will lead to success.

Magic properties

When discussing the magical properties of the amulet, experts often come to different and sometimes sharply opposite conclusions. Some believe that our pagan ancestors needed a talisman only to ensure the prosperity of their families. But after studying the sources, the conclusion suggests itself that it had other functions.

Health promotion

The amulet has the ability to create a protective cocoon of cleansing energy around its owner. It removes stains from the aura, heals on an energetic level, and the well-being of the soul is reflected in the health of the body.

In addition, under the influence of the amulet, a person’s character changes, he becomes more open and pleasant in communication, which has a positive effect on his life.

Protection

The amulet protects against damage, the evil eye, slander, etc. Nightmares and poor health from an unkind look will leave a person forever. It also protects against energy vampires looking for negative emotions, which he will not find in the owner of the amulet, since he is in complete harmony with himself. The ancient evil will also not be able to get closer to the owner, the Burdock needles will not allow demons to approach modern man, as they once did to the ancient Slavs.

Prosperity and luck

Attracting good luck is the main task of the talisman. The burdock catches the benefits in a square in the center, like a net.

People who have a talisman are always in a good mood and, thanks to their heightened perception of reality, are able to discern life prospects.

It will be useful for beginning businessmen, creative people, and, without a doubt, strong families, to whom the symbol will give tranquility, peace in the home, and help feed their children.

Protection

Any thorny plant or sharp object was revered by the ancient Slavs as a talisman against evil spirits and the evil eye. This is due to their ability to wound, cause pain, and dig into the body.

To protect against evil people and spirits, the plant itself with thorns, and not a symbol, was used. Here are some ways to use it:

  • during pre-wedding rituals, it was the custom to sweep the road in front of the bride with a burdock broom in order to scare away evil spirits;
  • the thorns were placed in the keyhole;
  • burdock was braided around walls, windows, doors, and placed under the threshold;
  • a bunch of burdock was placed in the coffin of a supposed witch or vampire so that it would cling to the undead and not let go of the grave;
  • it was thrown into the fire if it was necessary to drive away spirits;
  • plug up all the holes and holes in the hut to get rid of mice.

The amulet was used mainly on days of rampant evil spirits: Ivan Kupala, Christmastide, Spiritual Day. Even before nightfall, huts, barns, and stables were surrounded with thorns, and fires were lit in the courtyards to ward off evil spirits that could harm people and livestock and spoil the harvest.

Similar customs have been preserved in many modern villages. In the fall, housewives place burr heads between windows, in cracks, in mouse holes, under the threshold, so that no evil will enter the house.

Symbol usage options

To receive protection from the amulet, you can place the symbol in your home or on your own body. There are several ways to make a beneficial protective amulet.

Embroidery

Embroidery is an ideal option for creating a talisman. You can embroider it on a bed, tablecloth, napkins, clothes or on a piece of fabric, which will then become a body amulet. It is beautiful, original and rational.

Tattoos

Tattoos did not harm anyone, and in the case of the Burdock amulet, such decoration on the body will only be beneficial. After all, the talisman, always being with its owner, will attract good luck and prosperity to him.

And the matter is quickly and successfully resolved.

Under the influence of the amulet, a person has more time to be alone with himself, nature and loved ones. He begins to understand life better and appreciate the main thing in it.

Who can and cannot wear a talisman

It is recommended for everyone to wear the amulet: young and old, women and men, bachelors and family people, but it is especially recommended:

  1. Pregnant and lactating. At this moment, the amulet creates a protective dome for mother and baby, helps to get rid of diseases and improves health.
  2. People with chronic illnesses.
  3. A person looking for a job. The amulet will guide him and help him find an advantageous place.
  4. For any business related endeavor.
  5. For boys and girls during the period of searching for life partners and good friends.

Making an amulet with your own hands

And yet, the most effective amulet will be one made with your own hands or, in extreme cases, donated by a loved one. The simplest option is embroidery.

Embroidery Burdock of Happiness

To cross stitch the Burdock of Happiness you will need:

  1. Floss threads of several colors depending on the idea. Use only natural cotton threads.
  2. Canvas 8x8 cm made of natural threads - cotton or linen.
  3. Cotton or linen for the reverse side.
  4. If desired, decorate the embroidery in a special way - beads or matching beads.
  5. Natural thread made of cotton or silk for attaching them.
  6. Natural filler for the resulting small pillow.

Tools you will need:

  • needles for embroidery and beads;
  • scissors;
  • pliers, but round nose pliers are better.

Embroider the amulet at a time without the presence of strangers. They work on it during the waxing moon in the second week, in a good mood, with good thoughts.

Knots are not tied on the thread, since they interrupt the connection between the future owner of the amulet and the cosmos and higher powers; for the same reason, scissors are not used. After finishing work, the talisman is washed with running water, cleaning it, dried in the shade and left in the sun for the whole day to recharge with energy.

Embroidery
A do-it-yourself embroidered amulet has even greater power.

Is it possible to do it yourself?

The most powerful amulet is the one you made yourself.

Take two pieces of fabric of the same size. Using creative thread (it is best to use floss), embroider a talisman pattern on the fabric. After this, sew both pieces of fabric together, leaving a small hole for stuffing. You can use padding polyester or dried herbs. After this, sew up the hole, and use beads to make decorations on the sides of the pad that resemble burdock thorns. Don't forget to make a loop for wearing.

You can also purchase a ready-made amulet in specialized esoteric shops or make it to order in a workshop.

Activation and cleansing of the amulet

To activate the Burdock of Happiness, they take it in their hands and, closing their eyes, try to establish a connection with it, trusting the amulet with their most cherished desires and sharing their energy with it. Sometimes a conspiracy is read over him, but this is not necessary. The main thing is to make contact with him.

A lucky amulet needs to be periodically cleansed of the negativity that has accumulated on it. This should be done approximately once every six months.

Depending on the material of the amulet, you can clean it using:

  • running water, preferably from a living, clean reservoir;
  • earth, burying the amulet in the ground overnight to remove the negative impact;
  • air, placing the amulet on a hill where the winds will blow it;
  • fumigating the talisman with an incense stick, which will replace the influence of the wind;
  • fire, passing the amulet over the fire with a match or candle 3 times.

After cleansing, the amulet will work with renewed vigor, the main thing is to believe in it.

Cleaning

You need to be more careful with jewelry or figures. Before you start using or wearing it, it is advisable to perform a cleansing ritual:

  • Place the product in salt for a day.
  • After the specified time, rinse with clean water.
  • Dry in the sun.
  • Swipe over the candle flame three times.

It is important to do this not only after purchase, but also periodically when you need to “recharge” (at least once every six months).

Rules of use and care

You need to wear the amulet like this:

  • if the talisman hangs around your neck, hide it under your clothes;
  • embroidery on clothing should be in places covered by the outer layer of fabric or on underwear;
  • the tattoo should be covered with a cloth or, if it is on the wrist, covered with a wide bracelet.

Caring for the amulet is simple. It is enough to rinse it in running water or in a vessel with salt water in the evenings.

Optimism, love of life, love and good luck are brought by the Burdock amulet of happiness to bright-minded people who deserve all these benefits. And whoever wears it, his wishes will certainly come true.
