How to define zones in the house

Mastering Feng Shui

You can calculate and correctly determine zones in an apartment or country house yourself, without the help of a specialist. It doesn’t matter whether you are an inhabitant of a tiny Khrushchev or a large house. The nature of the application of the technique is always the same. There are several methods that are easy to master.

Octahedron Bagua

An octagon, or Bagua circle, is one of the easiest ways to define zones in an apartment. Take a sheet of cardboard and cut out an octagon from it. The table is divided into 8 equal parts (for this you will need a ruler and a protractor). On each one they write the corresponding zone or paint the figure in different colors, and then draw a plan of the apartment. It should contain all the rooms: rooms, bathroom, toilet, kitchen, storage room. Loggias and balconies are not taken into account. It is advisable to make the dimensions of the plan to scale.

Then you should remember which side of the world corresponds to the facade and where the windows face. They determine where each zone is, and then activate them. According to Feng Shui, the cardinal directions are not where they are accepted in the West. The Chinese method denotes north in the south, west in the east.

Finding zones using a compass

If you don't know where your house is located in relation to the cardinal directions or want to be more precise, you can use a compass. The direction should be determined in a place where there is no computer, TV or other equipment. Even a small magnet or calculator can throw off the needle. To get accurate indicators, it is advised to go outside. There they look to see if there are any electrical wires nearby.

Having determined the direction, you need to find out where the center of the apartment is. Draw a detailed plan on thick paper, then take scissors and carefully cut it out along the contour. Take a sharpened pencil and place the plan on top. Find a point at which the picture will stay on the tip and not fall. This will be the center of the apartment.

To ensure that the sectors are correct and accurate, the plan is divided using a protractor. It is applied to the paper so that the center of the plan and the measuring device coincide. The indicator 90⁰ should coincide with the north.

After this, the apartment is divided into 8 equal parts. To determine zones, you can use the Bagua octahedron.

From corner to corner

The scheme is very simple, suitable for beginners. It's not very accurate, but it still works. This method involves dividing a room into sectors with conditional lines connecting the corners of the room. After this, the zones are determined:

• Wealth is the far left corner.
• Glory is the middle of the wall, which is located opposite the door.
• Love and marriage are the far right corner.
• Children and creativity are the center of the right wall.
• Travel and assistants - near right corner.
• The quarry is the middle of the wall on which the entrance door is located.
